Hi, my name is Janeen and I have a 5 year old daughter named Skye. I have had so much fun and have learned so much by reading blogs like Beads, Braids, and Beyond, Curly Nikki, and Braid With Me that I thought I’d join in the fun world of blogging about hair! I have had a relaxer in my hair since I was about 4 years old so, before learning about natural hair from my dear cousin who introduced me to these lovely blogs, I never knew how beautiful and fun natural hair could be when you care for it properly. Unfortunately, before I found these blogs, I put a texturizer in Skye’s hairL I thought that was the only way to stop all of the crying when it was time to comb her hair, but I couldn’t have been more wrong! I have been searching for a blog about how to transition from the texturizer, but I haven't found much info on transitioning for kids. So I decided to start my own blog hoping that someone out there will find it helpful. Skye’s last and final texturizer was done in March 2011. My plan is to just let it grow and gradually cut off the texturized ends until they are all gone and she’s completely natural! I am by no means a professional anything, lol, but I’m learning more and more about how to care for her hair every day. I am also transitioning, so I may offer occasional updates on my hair as well.
